Presentations

If you want to learn more about a particular topic, chances are there's a presentation for that. Below are some of my favorite channels along with a few standout presentations.

Channels

TechWorld with Nana

Ever wonder what a reverse proxy is? How about Docker? Or Kubernetes? Nana has your back. She has a ton of presentations focusing on Cloud and DevOps with new presentations coming regularly.

Modern Software Engineering

Ever hear of Dave Farley, Kent Beck, Sam Newman? Well, now you have — and you'll be glad you did. To quote the channel:

"Modern Software Engineering is where good developers come to become great."

I particularly like Dave, but all the presenters are exceptional. They cover a wide range of software development topics.

CodeOpinion

Derek Comartin covers lots of architectural patterns such as Hexagonal, Clean, Onion, Vertical Slices, and Event-Driven. If you want to learn more about those architectures, CodeOpinion is a great place to start.

Individual Presentations

Test-Driven Development (TDD)

Perhaps the best TDD presentation I have ever seen is TDD, Where Did It All Go Wrong by Ian Cooper. I highly recommend watching it.

Agile

Gabrielle Benefield has a great presentation called Frankenbuilds: If Agile is so Good, Why Are Our Products so Bad?. From the title it might sound like a knock on Agile, but it isn't. She talks about measuring value — sometimes we get so focused on building new features that we lose touch with what our customers really need.
